  • Cooked Della Basmati Rice & Quinoa Blend
  • Garbanzo beans
  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • Orange zest

For a simple summertime treat (lunch or dinner!), try making our Strawberry Avocado rice bowl stir. It’s easy, filling and will make you happy that summer is only a few short days away… happy eating!

What you’ll need:

  • Diced ripe strawberries (stemmed and washed)
  • Diced ripe avocado
  • Della Basmati Rice & Quinoa blend
  • Arugula bunch
  • Crumbled feta cheese
  • Walnut chunks
  • Honey dijon dressing (whisk together olive oil, honey, dijon mustard, salt and pepper)

Here is the story of how we get Light Brown Rice:

1. All rice starts off brown as a whole grain.

2. During the milling process, the outer bran is rubbed off to turn the rice white.

3. Light brown rice is then gently milled to keep some of the color, nutrition, taste and texture, and shortened cooking time (light brown rice cooks faster – about 1/2 the time as brown rice).

We’re always cooking up something good in the Della Rice test kitchen. Enjoy this simple and easy weeknight dinner recipe for Asian Chicken and Rice.

Step 1:  Cook up some delicious Light Brown Basmati Rice in your rice cooker or stove top.  Light brown rice has a similar texture to white rice, but all the nutrients of brown rice…. making it a winning rice variety for the entire family.

Cooked Light Brown Basmati rice by DellaStep 2:  Layer shredded lettuce, shredded red cabbage, mandarin oranges, chow mein noodles and sliced almonds over cooked rice.

Step 3:  Add grilled chicken (seasoned however you like!) atop the rice bowl creation.

Step 4:  Sprinkle sesame seeds and drizzle soy ginger dressing atop chicken.  Voila!  You have an easy, no-fuss Asian Chicken Rice Bowl for dinner tonight.

Here is what happened when we unleashed our Stir Makers’ creativity and awesomeness:
